# Flows

> What happens at every step of a conversion — from requesting a quote to seeing the settled balance.

## Standard conversion flow

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Conversions">
    Navigate to **Conversions** in the dashboard and click **New conversion**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose your currencies">
    Select the currency you want to convert **from** and the currency you want to convert **to**. The available options depend on what you currently hold in your account.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the amount">
    Type the amount you want to send. You can also enter the amount you want to **receive** — Noxpay will calculate how much you need to send.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the quote">
    The dashboard presents both rates — D0 (same-day) and D1 (next-day) — along with the amount you are sending and the amount you would receive on each. The quote is valid for a short window, shown with a countdown.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose settlement and destination">
    Pick D0 or D1, and confirm where the converted funds should land — your Global Account balance, a crypto wallet, or a Pix key.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Accept">
    Click **Accept**. The conversion locks in at the rate shown. You cannot change your mind after this point.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Delivery and balance update">
    Your source currency balance decreases immediately. The destination balance updates once delivery completes at the settlement time you were quoted — same day for D0, next business day for D1.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## The quote expires before you accept

If you take longer than the quote window allows, the quote expires. This is normal — rates move constantly, and Noxpay can only guarantee a rate for a short time.

When a quote expires, it is automatically renewed with a fresh rate. If you try to accept the old quote, the dashboard (or API) tells you it expired and shows you the renewed one — just review and accept again.

If you wait too long overall, the quote is retired entirely and you need to start over with a new one.

## Not enough balance

If you try to convert more than your available balance, you will be prevented from proceeding. Keep in mind that locked balance — reserved for a transaction already in progress — is not available for conversion; only your **available** balance counts.

## D0 is not offered

If you request a quote after the desk's daily cutoff, or while the desk is closed for the weekend or a holiday, D0 settlement will not be available for that quote. You can still convert on D1.

## Delivery does not appear immediately

Delivery happens at the settlement time you were quoted, not the instant you accept. If the settlement time has passed and your balance has not updated, check the conversion's status before assuming something is wrong — in the rare case delivery fails, your funds remain safely held and Noxpay resolves it without you needing to take action.

<Note>
  All conversion history is visible in your Statement. Each conversion appears as two entries — one debit and one credit — both linked to the same conversion reference ID so you can trace them together.
